Folksy Magazine

Issue 5 of Make Jewellery Magazine is out now (it hit the shelves on 31 July) and again, as in previous issues, it is dominated with Folksy sellers. It's great that Folksy jewellers are getting so much exposure from one publication - it's a shame that more design and fashion magazines aren't promoting our lovely, bags, scarves and hand made accessories. Hopefully one day soon....Let's take a look at this issue's batch of Folksy Folk.Autumn Hair Vine by Willow Wire Creations. This beautiful hair piece is shown in the "Make A Purchase" feature, promoting hair jewellery. Warm colours make this hair vine perfect for an autumn wedding or event. Made using seed beads and chec. fire-polished beads on gold-plated wire, with a loop on each end for pinning into hair. Willow Wire will make pieces to order. Electric Blue Leather Headband by Hatastic. This head piece is also featured in "Make A Purchase" on page 36. Incredibly different Aliceband made from electric blue leather and one large electric blue diamante. Its decorated by the little bits of leather that I have punched out of the sides too - nothing has been wasted! Flower Shape Buttons by Jaykay. Jayne of Jaykay has 8 Hot Tips for making polymer clay beads on page 23. 4 Flower shaped "Hippy" buttons made from polymer clay. 3cm in diameter and approx 4mm thick. The pattern is on front side only - plain orange on the back. Shop of The Month on page 15 is ME, Glassprimitif! The feature shows some of my glass jewellery including my Allsorts cufflinks and Polka Dot Hearts. I am inspired by bright colour and patchwork quilts and fish and....
